First connection wizard

From Bibus

Here is a brief tutorial to establish the connection between bibus and your word processor:

  1. If you want to use bibus with openoffice, the first step thing you have to do is to check that openoffice macro security level is set to low or medium:
    • open openoffice
    • menu Tools -> Options
    • Image:Macro_Security.jpg
    • close openoffice
  2. We can now start the first connection wizard. It starts automatically if it's the first time you run bibus. You can launch it in the menu : Help -> First connection wizard
  3. Select your word processor. If you selected "Microsoft Word", you can go directly to step 5.

  4. We are now going to activate the connection between openoffice and bibus.

    • click on activate. A new dialgog box appears
    • choose "Enable macros".
      Image:Wizard03.jpg
    • click on "Accept Uno Connection"
      Image:Wizard04.jpg
    • close openoffice and the quickstart
    • start it again
    • click on "Next" in the first connection Wizard
  5. Select the type of database you want to use and click on "Next". In our case, we chose a sqlite database.

  6. Now we are going to create the database. Enter the filaname (circle 1) and the username of the database (circle 2). Then, click on "Finish" (circle3).

Your database should now be functional and the connection with your word processor activated. Good luck!
